Introduction to Rocket Yoga with Yantra Studio Founder, Abby Hoffmann
Curious about Rocket… but slightly intimidated?
Heard it’s not really ‘proper’ yoga ? (What ever that is!)
If you practise Ashtanga and love its structure, breath and discipline — but the word Rocket makes you picture wild arm balances and Instagram gymnastics — this workshop is for you.
Rocket Yoga was created to make the Ashtanga system more accessible, more playful and more adaptable. It keeps the integrity of the lineage while giving you permission to explore.
In this two-hour deep dive, Abby will:
• Break down what Rocket actually is (and what it isn’t)
• Demystify the sequencing
• Show you how it intelligently builds toward arm balances and inversions. And, if you don’t want to go upside down! that’s ok, Abby will show you drills and skills to help you get there quicker (that’s a Rocket saying!)
• Offer clear regressions and progressions
• Help you feel strong, capable and steady — not chaotic
Expect intelligent breakdowns, technical clarity, and a good dose of humour.
This is not a “throw yourself into handstands and hope” session.
It’s structured progression with breath-led focus.
If you practise Ashtanga but sometimes feel boxed in…
If you’ve avoided Rocket because it feels “too much”…
If you want to build confidence in transitions and arm balances without ego…
Come explore it properly!!
This workshop will equip you with the confidence to attend either of our two current Rocket Classes. Wed’s with Emma, Thursdays with Abby, suitable for all levels.
About Abby. Abby has a lifetime’s experience in practice and teaching. Her yoga journey began in earnest in 1997 when she first experienced the heat and intensity of Ashtanga yoga, making it her daily practice and starting her teaching career in 2001. Over time, she’s studied and learnt with some of the great teachers including all the greats - David Swenson, John Scott, Nancy Gilgoff and many more. Latterly she’s taken over 80 hours of Rocket yoga training and now leads regular classes at Yantra. Her approach is fun, yet rooted in tradition. She aims to make the ancient teachings of yoga relevant to contemporay lifestyles.
